Was There Anyone Before God?

Probably one of the most puzzling question that a man can think of, is about the mystery of God's existence. If God exist where did he sprung up? Upon realizing this thought-provoking question, many people were confounded and hopeless to arrived in a firm conclusion. Even forsaking their belief and turned away from their faith. Will this thought be enough for us to leave our first love and live our life like it was not bound to eternity? Let us find the answer to this question from the Word of God itself.

1) The Bible taught us that God created all things from the beginning.

The Bible says:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
-Genesis 1:1

So before the heavens and the earth were formed, He already existed. God became the grand designer and Creator of the universe.

2) All things were made by Him. Everything that our eyes can see and even those invisible to our naked eyes are His creation.

The Bible says:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
-John 1:1-3

3) God created all things together with the Word.

The Bible says:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
-John 1:1-3

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
-John 1:14

We have determined from these verses that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among men. He was the same person that in the book of Genesis mentioned when God made man after His own image.

The Bible says:
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
-Genesis 1:26-27

Pay attention to the word 'OUR', which indicated that God was with someone from the very beginning. He was the Word as mentioned in John 1:1. Who was the Word anyway?

The Bible says:
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
-John 1:14-18

The Word who confessed Himself as the only begotten of the Father, therefore was our Lord Jesus Christ. So from eternity the Son of God was there. From before He was conceived by His earthly mother, He was already with the Father in heaven.

The Bible says:
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
-John 3:13

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
-Revelation 1:8

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
-Revelation 22:13

4) Moses himself from the book of Psalms revealed that God existed 'from everlasting to everlasting'.

The Bible says:
Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
-Psalms 90:1-2

With all these verses we can conclude that God was the beginning and the end, the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega. There were no other before Him and without Him there was not any thing made that existed. From everlasting He was God and to everlasting He rule as our God.

40 Days of Soul on Earth

There are people today that believed that when a man dies his soul stays for a while before it departed. This superstition was believed to be originated from the account that Jesus stayed in the world 40 days after His resurrection. He was with His disciples comforting them and leaving them His lasts words and commandments before His ascension. Was Jesus really raised up from the dead in a form of a soul? Or was it a misinterpretation of those who claim it was?

1) Jesus showed His hands and feet to His disciples.

The Bible says:
And as they thus spoke, Jesus himself stood in the middle of them, and said to them, Peace be to you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said to them, Why are you troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit has not flesh and bones, as you see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet.
-Luke 24:36-40

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the middle, and said to them, Peace be to you. And when he had so said, he showed to them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.
-John 20:19-20

And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the middle, and said, Peace be to you. Then said he to Thomas, Reach here your finger, and behold my hands; and reach here your hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said to him, My LORD and my God.
-John 20:26-28

2) Jesus eat in the presence of His disciples.

The Bible says:
Jesus said to them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples dared ask him, Who are you? knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus then comes, and takes bread, and gives them, and fish likewise. This is now the third time that Jesus showed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
-John 21:12-14

And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
-Luke 24:30-31

Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly; Not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
-Acts 10:40-41

3) Jesus body was missing in the tomb, thus He is in His flesh when he was resurrected.

The Bible says:
And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. Then comes Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulcher, and sees the linen clothes lie, And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulcher, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
-John 20:5-9

Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the sepulcher, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said to them, Why seek you the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spoke to you when he was yet in Galilee.
-Luke 24:1-6

Then arose Peter, and ran to the sepulcher; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
-Luke24:12

And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. And entering into the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he said to them, Be not affrighted: You seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
-Mark 16:4-6

4) Jesus proclaimed that He was in the flesh after He was raised up.

Jesus' Sepulcher

The Word of God clearly revealed to us that Jesus was resurrected in the flesh and not of the spirit. If we believe otherwise, then we are neglecting the truth and making the testimony of His resurrection to naught. For He suffered and died for our sins and in third day was raised up, so that those who believe on Him too, shall have the hope of resurrection in the last days.

Beware of false teachings and be watchful. The Bible clearly warned us of those who perverted the Words of God.

The Bible says:

And the burden of the LORD shall you mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
-Jeremiah 23:36

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things.
-Romans 1:21-23
